Educational Information:
Information provided on this website is intended for general educational and informational purposes only.
Wildlife emergencies can vary greatly depending on the species, condition of the animal, circumstances, and location. Information provided on this website should not replace guidance from a licensed wildlife rehabilitator, veterinarian, law enforcement agency, or appropriate wildlife authority.
Injured or Orphaned Wildlife:
Wild animals can bite, scratch, transmit disease, or cause serious injury when frightened, sick, injured, or being handled.

Wildlife Rehabilitation:
Not every animal encountered by a person needs to be rescued. Young wildlife may appear to be alone while a parent is nearby or temporarily away. Whenever possible, please contact a qualified wildlife rehabilitator before intervening so the situation can be properly assessed. Acceptance of an animal into rehabilitation may depend on species, licensing requirements, available space, resources, the animal's condition, and other circumstances.
No Guarantee of Outcome:
Wildlife rehabilitation involves animals that may arrive with severe injuries, illness, poisoning, trauma, or other serious conditions. Although every reasonable effort may be made to provide appropriate care, recovery and release cannot be guaranteed. The welfare of the animal will always guide rehabilitation decisions.
